Meet Dr. Bruno
Richard A. Bruno, DDS, MS
As an orthodontist, my profession comes with the responsibility of creating the perfect smile for each patient, while also providing a comfortable and positive orthodontic experience. I take my job incredibly seriously, and will only perform a treatment that I would recommend for my own family. I enjoy getting to know each patient personally, and plan each treatment on their individual needs and goals. Throughout the orthodontic process, I always strive to exceed your expectations.
Prior to becoming an orthodontist, I attained my bachelor's degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, and my DDS from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry. I then earned my Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics from The University of Detroit Mercy.
I consider my continuing orthodontic education an integral part of my job. Each year, the state mandates that each orthodontist participate in at least 20 hours of continuing education. I double or triple that number each and every year, because I know that learning about the most efficient and comfortable treatments will benefit my patients. My specific interests include technology in orthodontics, treatment efficiency, and growth and development. I want to ensure that the smiles I create for our patients are healthy and will last a lifetime.
As a part of my continuing education, I am a member of several orthodontic study groups. In these groups, I meet with colleagues to regularly discuss a wide variety of topics, including new technology, treatment protocols, and interesting or complex cases. This experience has been invaluable to me since early in my career, and has proven to be applicable to some of my own patients.

I have always been passionate about science as well as designing and building. Orthodontics combines these two interests while helping my community live healthier, happier lives. I truly love what I do, and cannot imagine doing anything else. I have been an orthodontist since 1997, and every day I strive to be better than the day before.
I want each patient to feel completely comfortable in our office. My goal is to educate and treat each patient with the best methods available. I realize that a patient's trust is earned only through honesty, fairness and treatment excellence, and that is how I run my practice. I am truly lucky to be involved in such a fun and rewarding career. Interacting with and serving as many different people as I do is an honor that I cherish.
I grew up in Rochester, and love serving the people and families of my hometown. My wife, Kate, and I have two children named Gracie and Domenic. In my spare time, I enjoy good food, music, travel, reading non-fiction, physical fitness and watching football. Of course, my favorite pastime is having fun with my family!
For the past three years, I have been actively involved with the development and participation in Covenant Community Care (CCC), a faith-based health care facility located in Southwest Detroit. CCC is comprised of four orthodontists who donate one day per month to treat underprivileged children in the Southwest Detroit area who otherwise would not have access to quality orthodontic care.
I am also very active both personally and financially with the local schools and the local surrounding community. Whether it is supporting the Senior All Night Party, handing out toothbrushes and goodies at the annual Halloween event in the park, sponsoring a patient in the Young Miss Clawson Pageant, or supplying items for the local private school auction, our involvement in the community stems back to the start of the practice more than 40 years ago.
